2010 is just around the corner. It will have been 10 years since I graduated from college, 9 since Nate and I were married, and little Fynn will be 1. Already, it is shaping up to be a big year. 2010 just sounds momentous.
While I’m not so sure that it will actually be momentous, I think that it is about time that I actually follow through on some of the goals (not calling them resolutions this year…since resolutions are easily broken). I think I’ll make a list for myself here and we’ll see how far I get on each of these.
1. Lose 20 lbs. Okay, okay. Every time I tell my friends I need to lose 20 lbs. they freak. “Do you need to lose that much.” Without divulging every detail of my life on the internet. Yes, I do need to lose 20 lbs.
2. Stop drinking sugary sodas. Drink diet, you say? To me, diet tastes like I’m drinking bitter water. Unfortunately, I can’t do it. I’ve tried. But since I’m at home a lot of the day, I’m not in close proximity to a vending machine. In other words, if Nate or I don’t buy it at a store and bring it home, I don’t get soda. I miss Coke already. Alas.
3. Learn how to cook real food. One very great advantage of having a now (almost mobile) seven-month-old is that the last thing you want to do is go to a restaurant. What was a convenience to Nate and I has become a serious chore. Time to learn how to cook yummy, healthy food. Considering I have plenty of cookbooks and the time (relatively speaking), this should be manageable.
4. Read and write more. For more information on this, check out the “Book Club” category on the blog.
Well, I think I should just stop there. I may add more, but I’m hoping that I don’t delete any of these goals. One more day until I start. January 1 is Friday. Wish me luck!
